(Circular Economy)

The Collaboration:

Social Impact:

WISHULADA x The Rockefeller Foundation: Empowering Coastal Communities through Circular Art

Transforming discarded oyster shell waste into marine-inspired art to improve community health and local environments.

WISHULADA had the distinct honor of welcoming The Rockefeller Foundation and the Social Enterprise Association of Thailand (SE Thailand) to a specialized co-creation workshop. The initiative focused on upcycling discarded oyster shells—a prominent local waste issue in Chonburi Province—into captivating coastal-inspired artworks. By reusing these shells, the project directly addresses environmental degradation and public health concerns caused by accumulated coastal waste.

Supported by the Saensuk Municipality and the King Prajadhipok Institute (A-List, Batch 1 - Busarakam Group), the workshop combined local empirical insights with creative execution. Participants were guided through the entire circular production chain, from raw material treatment to finished artistic expressions. Ultimately, these meaningful masterpieces will be gifted back to local Chonburi communities, creating a sustainable model of shared value, community pride, and environmental innovation.
